If You Get Sick While Traveling- Are You Covered Financially?

I wanted to share something that happened to me while on a dream trip to Sweden this past August.

I was so excited about my trip- packed and ready to go! One of my best friends Grace and her son and I were traveling together. Once there, we were to meet up with our dear friend Iggy who was born and raised in Sweden and now resides in Miami.

Day one was glorious- Stockholm is an incredible city and the people are wonderful. It is one of the most environmentally friendly cities I have ever visited. I was enchanted. On day two, I got sick. I had to leave my friends midday to go back to the hotel and rest.

Each day, hoping I would feel better, I woke up still sick and feeling worse. Eventually, I had to seek medical treatment. It was not the way I wanted to spend my two weeks in Sweden, but I was so thankful I had invested in travel insurance.

In the short video attached, I explain how having travel insurance can save the day and your money.

Even though I grew up without money, I was able to retire at 50 based on my financial practices. I worked for the Federal Government for 26 years, with 6 of those years at the IRS and 20 at the Department of Justice, which included investigating many money-related cases.

I created MoneyMaestra to share what I know and to help people get on the path to Financial Freedom.
